Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has finally been spoken about the possibility of the Indian cricket team going to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.
The BCCI is trying to get the government’s approval to visit Pakistan, but India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is uncertain. It will take place in Pakistan from February to March.
In a recent interview, Jay Shah was asked about the possibility of India going to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy in 2025. He noted that no decision has been made and that the BCCI would assess the situation and make the call when appropriate.
He emphasized that the BCCI will review the situation and make a decision at the right time, noting that a final decision has not yet been made. “As of now, no stand. Jay Shah declared, “We will cross the bridge when it comes.”
Remember that the Indian team will not be going to Pakistan for the ICC event, according to reports circulating in Indian media, citing a source from the BCCI.
According to additional reports, the board has formally suggested Sri Lanka and Dubai as possible locations for India’s games.
India had previously declined to go to Pakistan for the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2023. As a consequence, Sri Lanka was the co-host of the continental event in a hybrid model.
It is worth noting that, as a result of the persistent political conflicts between the two neighboring countries, India has not made a trip to Pakistan since the Asia Cup in 2008.
